FAQs

Do you offer summer programming?

Yes. Most of our district partners continue tutoring programs throughout the summer. Many of our districts leverage existing tutors to work alongside teachers delivering summer academic content or by continuing standards aligned lessons.

How does pricing work?

An hourly rate is determined based on group size and content area. Districts are invoiced for the number of hours tutors work. Pricing is not determined on a per student basis, allowing tutors to serve more students throughout their shift.

What is your hiring process for your tutors?

Tutors hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or are enrolled in a high education institution. All tutors complete an internal certification process including content based assessments and background checks.

Are tutors certified teachers?

We do have some certified teachers who may be interested in tutoring and we try to recruit teachers in all districts; however, we do not particularly recruit certified teachers. Given the nationwide teacher shortage, most folks with an active teaching credential are currently engaged in full-time teaching positions. HeyTutor leverages robust training and embedded tutor notes into every lesson to empower all tutors to deliver the same high-quality level of service.

What Kind of Funding Can I Use?

High-impact tutoring can be funded by various resources, including state or federal grants, as well as title funding. HeyTutor can assist in determining what funding sources may be available to fund tutoring based on your objectives and students specific needs. These sources may include ELOP, ACCES, ELL, TCLAS, and more. If you require assistance in identifying your district’s funding options, please complete the form provided here.
